A FedEx truck crashed into a Tempe home on Tuesday morning, causing extensive damage. The driver of the truck was injured, but no one else was hurt.
The incident happened around 9 a.m. at a home on the corner of Baseline Road and Rural Road. The truck was traveling east on Baseline Road when it veered off the road and crashed into the front of the house.
The driver of the truck was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The residents of the home were not home at the time of the crash.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation. However, police say that speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors.
The crash caused significant damage to the front of the house. The truck broke through the front porch and into the living room. The house is currently uninhabitable.
The Red Cross is assisting the residents of the home with temporary housing.
This is a developing story. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
