El Nino; heating things up.

What’s up, folks! The World Meteorological Organization (WMO), like all good world governing bodies, is based out of Geneva, Switzerland. Naturally. And they have a new decree for us lay folk. It has officially been announced that El Nino is back in town.

What’s an El Niño and why does it matter?

Heat, because of heat. That’s why El Niño matters. El Nino is this crazy weather pattern that happens every two to seven years.

It’s like Mother Nature is having a big ‘ole hot flash. The ocean’s surface temperatures warm up in the central and eastern tropical Pacific Ocean. And when Mama Nature gets hot, things get interesting.

The last time we had an El Nino party was back in 2016. It was a wild ride, folks, with temperatures setting records left, right, and center. Now, the WMO is saying that this new El Nino is likely to supercharge those conditions. So, buckle up, because we’re in for a hell of a ride!

Those Swiss science geeks are threatening us with a 90% chance this El Nino thing keeps going until the end of the year. That means a lot more extreme heat in many parts of the world and in the ocean.

Any good news to chase this hot beer with?

There is, in fact, a silver lining to this El Nino cloud. According to the National Ocean Service, El Nino can significantly affect our weather, causing the Pacific jet stream to move south of its neutral position. This could lead to some interesting weather patterns that we don’t usually see.

So, there you have it, folks. El Nino is back, and it’s turning up the heat. But as long as we’re prepared, we can ride out this weather wave and maybe even have a little fun along the way. After all, who doesn’t love a good hot tub party?

We thank our sponsors.
